This simulation is a study of onion root tip mitosis. This simulation can be used to practice identifying the stages of mitosis and to compare the impact of several treatments on the rate of mitosis. 

 

In this scenario, the treatments are applied to onion roots in a growing medium and the root tip is then prepared for study (not part of the simulation). The image of the sample presented represents the stained cells viewed with a microscope.
